Sebastiaan Merts joins Spedify as Chief Operating Officer
We are pleased to welcome Sebastiaan Merts as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Spedify!
DB Journey has chosen Spedify as its new logistics partner for the Norwegian market.
With the warehouse relocation from Sweden to Askim, Spedify now manages all distribution in Norway – in close collaboration with Bleckmann for the European market.
The high-end Norwegian brand DB Journey (formerly known as Douchebags) has decided to move its warehouse from Sweden to Spedify’s modern logistics facilities in Askim. This relocation marks an important milestone for both Spedify and DB Journey, enabling a more local and efficient distribution setup in their most important market.
“Norway has always been our home turf, and moving our warehouse operations closer to the Norwegian consumer was a natural next step.”
“We carried out a thorough Request for Proposal (RFP) process to find a third-party logistics (3PL) partner capable of supporting our ambitions in this key market. Spedify stood out during the process – meeting all requirements in terms of capacity, scalability, and service quality,” says Joachim Gund, Director of Business Development at DB Journey.
He also highlights the strategic location of Askim as a major factor in the decision:
“Their location in Askim was also a decisive factor. It offers excellent proximity to Oslo, which is not only one of the largest markets in Norway but also a key logistics hub. This central positioning improves both inbound flow and outbound delivery performance, enabling us to serve our customers faster and more efficiently. In short, Spedify in Askim allows us to deliver a premium local experience to the Norwegian market.”
Joachim further emphasizes the importance of Norway for DB Journey:
“The Norwegian market holds a special place for us – not only is it where Db was founded, but it remains our largest and most important market in terms of revenue and brand positioning. While we don’t disclose specific figures, we can confidently say that Norway represents our strongest customer base, and we expect it to remain our top market for the foreseeable future.”
He concludes:
“That’s why we are deeply committed to strengthening our ties with Norwegian consumers. Establishing a local warehouse is one of several steps we’re taking to get closer to our customers, improve service quality, and support long-term growth.”
