Partner selection

How to choose a 3PL partner

The right 3PL partner should be selected based on product flow, complexity, systems, service level and ability to follow up operations over time.

The lowest price per order is rarely enough as a decision basis. A solid assessment looks at the total operation: warehouse, staffing, returns, reporting, responsibility, capacity and how change is handled.

Questions to clarify

Before choosing a 3PL partner, the brand should clarify both operational needs and commercial expectations:

  • Which channels, order types and customer promises must be supported?
  • How are returns, repairs and exceptions handled?
  • Which systems need to integrate, and who owns the data?
  • How does the partner handle peaks, campaigns and growth?
  • How is quality measured and followed up in daily operations?

A strong 3PL partner should be able to explain the operating model, not only the price list. The goal is a setup that can be understood, measured and improved over time.
